Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast Temporarily Closed for Renovation
Just days after the reopening of Big Thunder Mountain in Frontierland, Disneyland Paris has once again closed a popular attraction in the Disneyland Park for an extended refurbishment. This time, it’s Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast in Discoveryland.
The attraction was last open on June 22, 2025. So far, Disney has remained silent about the renovation and has not released any details regarding potential improvements or a reopening date. However, it’s clear that the attraction will not reopen this summer. Through the official Disneyland Paris website and app, visitors can view attraction closures up to three months in advance. According to rumors (not yet officially confirmed), the attraction is expected to reopen later this year (Late 2025).
Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast originally opened on April 8, 2006, replacing the former Visionarium attraction. During a previous major refurbishment between 2020 and 2021, the ride underwent a complete overhaul, including new blacklight lighting, repainted sets, upgraded animatronics, and a refreshed exterior featuring LED lighting. Despite this, recent visits revealed several broken targets and effects—clear signs the attraction was due for another round of maintenance.
The temporary closure will impact overall park capacity, as Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast accommodates thousands of guests daily. Fortunately, fans of interactive attractions can still enjoy Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure in Avengers Campus at Walt Disney Studios Park, where guests take on Spider-Bots using motion-based controls.
