The Magic of Disney Animation will open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
In 2026, a brand-new attraction called The Magic of Disney Animation will open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World, inspired by the Emmy-winning short film Once Upon a Studio. The current Star Wars: Launch Bay will be transformed into an interactive space where Disney characters come to life.
The building will feature Mickey’s iconic Sorcerer Hat and serve as the centerpiece of a reimagined courtyard: The Walt Disney Studios. Guests of all ages can draw, play, relax, and experience the magic of animation like never before, exploring playful studio departments filled with surprises – from living portraits to hands-on drawing activities.
The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure will continue, and a new Disney Jr. show will debut in the revamped soundstage. Preparations begin on September 25, 2025, when Animation Courtyard and Disney Jr. Play and Dance! close.
