The Unlucky Nugget Saloon, a unique dining experience during the Disney Halloween Festival

During the Disney Halloween Festival, surprises await guests at The Lucky Nugget Saloon in Disneyland® Paris! This iconic Frontierland® venue will be temporarily renamed, with its story more closely intertwined with that of Phantom Manor, whose sinister silhouette looms over the area.

Walt Disney Imagineering Paris in collaboration with Design & Delivery teams have designed a brand-new experience for the Halloween season, blending eerie decorations with a mysterious sound and lighting atmosphere inspired by the Phantom Manor attraction. For a limited time, The Lucky Nugget Saloon will be transformed into a past glorious reception venue, now left abandoned. In the story created by the Imagineers, the restaurant was originally meant to host a lavish celebration in honour of the Ravenswoods, one of the wealthiest and most influential families in town, for the upcoming wedding of their daughter, Melanie — but the mysterious disappearance of her groom brought the festivities to an end, and the celebration never took place…

Much like the Ravenswood Manor, The Lucky Nugget Saloon has mysteriously fallen into disrepair — to the point where the locals of Thunder Mesa have even begun referring to it as “The Unlucky Nugget.” The location remains open to curious guests, but be warned — it promises to be… a spirited experience!

Thomas Levert, Graphic Designer at Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, explains: “To create the atmosphere at The Unlucky Nugget Saloon for this Halloween season, it seemed only natural to draw inspiration from the most famous residence in Thunder Mesa. We aimed to reflect the signature style and essence of Phantom Manor through festively haunted décor, an unsettling lighting mood, and a soundtrack inspired by the attraction’s iconic melodies — rearranged specially for the occasion. We also took inspiration from Victorian-era weddings, where fabric banners, floral arrangements and ornate graphic elements were abundant, to faithfully recreate this ‘celebration’.”

Many references to the attraction will be scattered throughout The Unlucky Nugget Saloon — particularly on the venue’s central stage, which will feature the guests of honour’s table, a portrait of the beautiful Melanie Ravenswood, and an extraordinary wedding cake inspired by Victorian confections. “One detail I particularly love is the silhouette of Phantom Manor at the top of the cake. It clearly shows how The Lucky Nugget Saloon went all out to honour the richest man in town by celebrating his daughter’s wedding,” notes Thomas Levert. “If you look closely at the decorations, there’s another detail I’m especially fond of: the name of Melanie Ravenswood’s groom is never visible. The mystery remains unsolved! In fact, the four menus placed on the main table are a perfect example — the groom’s name is always erased, just like the four vanished suitors.”

In addition to its chilling atmosphere, the guests visiting The Unlucky Nugget Saloon will also be able to enjoy a menu specially adapted for the occasion. This collaboration between the Imagineers and the Food & Beverage teams offers a culinary experience that complements the story, as Isabelle Soltys, Producer at Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, explains: “When we presented our The Unlucky Nugget Saloon project to the Chefs, they were thrilled and immediately began rethinking the restaurant’s offer — designing a menu with ingredients that aligned with our story. It’s wonderful to receive such strong support to make our experience even more immersive!”

So all guests, as much fans of eerie atmospheres as devoted Phantom Manor enthusiasts, will be able to enjoy this time-limited experience during the Disney Halloween Festival, from 1st October to 2nd November 2025 at Disneyland Paris. “I hope that when guests come to dine at The Unlucky Nugget Saloon, they’ll appreciate the mysterious ambiance and take the time to admire the décor and its details. We want them to feel as though they’re part of the Ravenswoods’ cursed celebration — and part of Thunder Mesa’s story,” says Thomas Levert. He concludes with a mischievous smile: “One thing’s for certain — in this restaurant, guests will have the eerie feeling… that they’re not alone.”
