Disney Cruise Line has officially postponed the maiden voyage of its newest ship, Disney Adventure. Originally scheduled to set sail from Singapore on December 15, 2025, the voyage will now begin on March 10, 2026.
The delay is attributed to unexpected construction delays during the shipbuilding process. To ensure that all theme park-quality finishes and onboard systems meet Disney’s high standards, final touches are taking longer than anticipated.

Affected Sailings & Guest Options
- All sailings aboard the Disney Adventure scheduled between December 15, 2025 and March 12, 2026 are impacted. These cruises are being cancelled or rescheduled.
- Guests who were booked on the original maiden voyage will be automatically rebooked on the new March 10, 2026 date and will receive 50% off their fare for that sailing.
- Those who prefer not to sail on the revised date may receive a full refund, plus 50% off a future cruise.
Background
The Disney Adventure, which was formerly the partially constructed Global Dream vessel, was acquired by Disney from Genting Hong Kong after the latter’s financial struggles. Since then, Disney has been transforming the ship with their own design, theming, and operational standards. The shipyard involved is located in Wismar, Germany.

Statement from Disney
Joe Schott, President of Disney Signature Experiences, commented:
“As we work on the final touches to bring the Disney Adventure to our guests, we’ve encountered unexpected delays in the shipbuilding process. To ensure the experience we deliver reflects our commitment to excellence, we’ve made the decision to adjust our timeline.”
