Around 15 years ago, Halloween at Disneyland Paris looked completely different from what we see today. It was less about cheerful autumn vibes and cozy decorations — and much more about true Halloween spirit, with pumpkins, witches, spider webs, and of course, the Disney Villains.
The Era of the Pumpkin Men
Back then, the Disneyland Park even had its own original storyline for the season. During October, the so-called Pumpkin Men took over the park. You could find them everywhere — especially on Main Street U.S.A., where pumpkin characters represented the town’s residents, like a police officer, a dentist, or a baseball player.
Sometimes, the Pumpkin Men would run through Main Street during the day, “painting” the shop windows orange. It gave the park a lively, mischievous energy — as if Halloween had truly taken over Disneyland Paris.
Pumpkin Characters and Pink Witches
Later, female pumpkin characters were added to the mix, along with bright pink witches, bringing even more color to the celebration. These characters also appeared in the Halloween Cavalcade, which at the time still featured many Disney Villains too. Although the pumpkin men were great fun and created a fantastic atmosphere, the pink witches might have been a step too far. Especially the pink decorations placed in Frontierland looked rather unattractive and cheap.

A Different Kind of Festival
Today, the Villains are much harder to find. Where they once appeared almost everywhere, you now need a bit of luck to spot them. Still, Halloween 2010 remains an unforgettable era — a time when Disneyland Paris fully embraced the darker, mysterious, and magical side of Halloween.
