Good news for Star Wars fans visiting Disneyland Paris, you no longer need to join a Virtual Queue to meet Darth Vader at Starport: A Star Wars Encounter in Discoveryland.
The Virtual Queue system was first introduced back in 2022 with the opening of the Hero Training Center in Avengers Campus. It later expanded to several other character meet & greet locations in the spring of 2025, including Meet Mickey Mouse, the Princess Pavilion in Fantasyland, Olaf at Animation Celebration, and Starport.
At Starport, guests previously had to register via the Disneyland Paris app at 9:45 AM or 2:00 PM, and then wait for a notification when it was their turn to meet Darth Vader.

Back to a Classic Standby Queue
After only a few months of using the Virtual Queue at Starport, Disney has now deactivated it. The meet & greet has returned to a traditional standby line, meaning guests can simply queue up during the location’s regular opening hours, no app required.
It’s not a surprising move, since the Darth Vader meet & greet is likely one of the less crowded character experiences in the park. The location also features a large outdoor queue area, which makes the standby system easy to manage.

Another factor might be the lack of character variety. Unlike other meet & greet locations such as the Hero Training Center or the Princess Pavilion, where you might meet different characters on different visits, Starport has always featured Darth Vader only.
In the past, other Star Wars characters like Chewbacca and Kylo Ren have occasionally appeared at Starport during special events, such as Star Wars Day (May the 4th).
It’s also worth noting that some guests still confuse Starport with the nearby attraction Star Tours, since both are located close together in Discoveryland.
What About Other Virtual Queues?
If you’re wondering where Virtual Queues are still in use, here’s the current list (as of this writing):
- Meet Mickey at Phantom Manor
- Princess Pavilion
- Meet Santa Claus
- Meet Jack Skellington
- Meet Olaf
- Hero Training Center

You can always check the official Disneyland Paris app for the most up-to-date information on Virtual Queues and character meet & greet availability.
And if you’re hoping to meet more characters from a galaxy far, far away, don’t forget to stop by the Mandalorian and Grogu meet & greet, located near Starport, which also operates without a Virtual Queue.
