The holiday season has once again arrived at the Disneyland Hotel, and that means Christmas decorations are back in place. However, frequent visitors will quickly notice that there are few to no new additions this year. The decorations look similar to those of last year.
A Classic Christmas in the Lobby
In the lobby, the large Christmas tree stands proudly next to the fireplace, surrounded by countless garlands with twinkling lights along the railings overlooking the lobby. It certainly creates a warm and festive atmosphere.
Modest Decorations Near the Shop and Restaurants
Further along, towards the hotel shop and the restaurants, the decorations stay fairly minimalistic: with garlands above the storefronts and along the Castle Club railings.
While the lobby itself remains beautifully decorated, it’s clear that the hotel is not overly adorned this season.
More Magic in the Past
Those who have known the Disneyland Hotel longer will surely remember the days before the major renovation, when more creativity went into the Christmas decor. Think of:
- An impressive gingerbread house
- A holiday train circling the tree
Unfortunately, those larger and more unique elements are gone.
No Longer Freely Accessible
Another change compared to the past: the Disneyland Hotel is now no longer freely accessible to guests who are not staying there. In the morning, you might still be able to sneak in for a quick look, but it typically doesn’t take long before Cast Members and security begin checking everyone.
Conclusion: although the Christmas decorations are still beautiful and well maintained, they lack surprises and a sense of grandeur. What remains is a stylish, yet rather basic version of Christmas magic at one of Disneyland Paris’ most iconic and most expensive hotels.
