Magical Christmas Tree Lighting returns to Disneyland Paris
After being absent since 2019, the Christmas Tree Lighting show has finally returned to Town Square at Disneyland Paris. Disney had already announced the comeback of the show, featuring Mickey, Friends and Christmas carols, but details remained limited until now.

Over the past few years, guests only experienced a show stop from Mickey’s Dazzling Christmas Parade at the Christmas Tree, along with various lighting effects on the tree that occurred randomly in the evening without Disney characters. This year marks the true return of a dedicated evening show on Town Square.
The new version, named Magical Christmas Tree Lighting, is strongly based on the existing Let’s Sing Christmas show from Videopolis. It features the same scenes, the same music, and the same costumes. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Clarabelle appear during the show, while a choir performs near the Town Square Gazebo.
The characters now perform on Main Street Station instead of a stage in front of the tree, which should help avoid the crowd control challenges that previous versions faced.

Considering how special the tree lighting ceremonies were before the pandemic, this new approach may feel a bit disappointing. Disneyland Paris has many festive character costumes that could have made the show feel more unique. The same goes for the music, a different selection of songs could have added a more special touch.
However, by having this performance take place at night, guests who didn’t get the chance to visit Videopolis for Let’s Sing Christmas can still enjoy a similar experience.
Magical Christmas Tree Lighting is performed once per day. Most showings take place around 19:35, but times can vary, so it is best to check the Disneyland Paris app for the latest information.
Disney Enchanted Christmas continues at Disneyland Paris until January 6, 2026.
