It has been known for some time that Annette’s Diner will undergo a major renovation as part of the ongoing Disney Village transformation. This refurbishment will come with a long-term temporary closure of the popular restaurant.
As we previously reported, January 4, 2026 will be the last day guests can enjoy a burger, hotdog, or salad inside this classic 1950s American diner. The restaurant will officially close on January 5, 2026.
The renovation will focus on expanding the kitchens and completely refurbishing the dining room. This includes new floors and furniture, while carefully preserving the restaurant’s iconic retro atmosphere that fans love.
During the annual InsidEars Christmas event, Disney shared the very first piece of concept art showing what the renewed Annette’s Diner could look like. Unfortunately, the artwork only gives a limited glimpse of the changes. It mainly focuses on a new bar and service counter for staff, while the rest of the dining areas remain unclear for now.
Some iconic features will be fully reimagined. The bar will receive a brand-new layout and design inspired by the shiny chrome look of classic American diners. The booths will also be redesigned, drawing inspiration from 1950s car seats and featuring pastel colors such as pink, blue, and vanilla yellow. When Annette’s Diner reopens, it will offer slightly increased seating capacity while continuing to celebrate the golden age of Rock ’n’ Roll and the 1950s.
Annette’s Diner is famous for its retro vibes and classic American menu, including burgers, hotdogs, milkshakes, onion rings, and a wide range of American desserts. Guests visiting in the morning can also enjoy an American-style breakfast served until 11:30 AM.
During the closure, guests can find new breakfast options at the Sports Bar & Lounge or visit other Disney Village restaurants such as Earl of Sandwich and Brasserie Rosalie.
At this time, it is still unknown when Annette’s Diner will reopen in Disney Village, or whether this will happen later in 2026. Additionally, on January 5, 2026, the Disney Store located next to Annette’s Diner will also close. This store will be transformed and will reopen under a new name: Disney Wonders.
