How Frozen Became a Disneyland Paris Icon – From First Appearances to World of Frozen
The Frozen franchise has dominated Disneyland Paris for years. Ever since the original movie premiered in 2013, Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Kristoff, and Sven have become impossible to imagine away from the resort. From shows and parades to seasonal events, and soon a fully themed land, Frozen has left a huge mark on Disneyland Paris.
With the opening of World of Frozen getting closer in Disney Adventure World (currently Walt Disney Studios Park), it’s the perfect moment to look back at some of the biggest Frozen highlights over the years.

Anna and Elsa’s first appearance at Disneyland Paris (2013)
The sisters were added to Disney Magic on Parade in 2013, replacing Ariel and Prince Eric on one of the parade floats.

At that time, Frozen was very new, and not every guest was familiar with the characters yet.
Frozen also played a big role during the Christmas season. Olaf became a key character in Disney Dreams! of Christmas, joined by Anna, while Elsa had her own dedicated scene featuring the iconic song “Let It Go.”

In 2014, the show received a major update due to Frozen’s enormous popularity. Songs like “In Summer” and “Love Is an Open Door” were added, replacing the original Christmas sing-along scene with Olaf.
Frozen Summer Fun (2015 & 2016)
During the summer of 2015, Disneyland Paris launched Frozen Summer Fun, running from June through September. One of the biggest highlights was the Frozen Sing-Along show at the Chaparral Theater in Frontierland.
The show featured Anna, Elsa, Olaf, and Kristoff and invited the audience to singing along to Frozen’s most popular songs, including Do You Want To Build A Snowmen, Love is an open door, in Summer and Let it go.
The show ran several times a day, with performances in both French and English.

Frozen Summer Fun also introduced a Frozen cavalcade on the parade route with Anna & Elsa, and Disney Dreams! was updated with a “Let It Go” scene in the show.
Due to its success (and increased sales of Frozen merchandise), Frozen Summer Fun returned in 2016.
Mickey and the Magician (2016)
In the summer of 2016, Mickey and the Magician debuted at the Animagique Theater in Walt Disney Studios Park. The show is set in a large magician’s workshop, where the assistant, none other than Mickey Mouse, is tasked with cleaning up the room overnight. The young apprentice becomes distracted, and nothing goes according to plan.

Mickey is accidentally transported into some of Disney’s most magical worlds, encountering characters such as the Fairy Godmother, Lumière, Rafiki, the Genie, and Elsa.
In the Frozen scene, Elsa appears alongside Olaf, who magically meets Mickey and introduces him to her.
Elsa then performs her hit song “Let It Go,” complete with her iconic magical costume transformation.
Mickey and the Magician is still performed today in Disneyland Paris, subject to temporary closures or schedule interruptions.
Disneyland Paris 25th Anniversary (2017)
In 2017, Disneyland Paris celebrated its 25th anniversary, and Frozen once again took center stage. The brand-new parade Disney Stars on Parade replaced Disney Magic on Parade and featured franchises like The Lion King, Finding Nemo, Peter Pan, and more. However, it was Frozen that closed the parade.
The finale unit, called Discover Wonder, featured Kristoff leading the unit alongside snowflake dancers. Olaf is on a rocking-horse version of Sven, while Anna and Elsa are on a balcony of a toy-like ice palace, bringing the parade to a magical finale.

That same year, Disney Illuminations debuted as the new nighttime spectacular, replacing Disney Dreams. Just before the finale, the show featured a major Frozen sequence with “Let It Go” and “For the First Time in Forever” (in French).

Frozen: A Musical Invitation (2019)
At the end of 2019, Frozen: A Musical Invitation replaced The Art of Disney Animation at the Animation Celebration Theater. Designed for younger guests, this interactive show emphasized audience participation as Anna, Kristoff, Sven, and Elsa invited guests to celebrate in Arendelle.
The experience begins in Kristoff’s barn, where Anna learns dance moves and Kristoff and Sven perform “Reindeer Are Better Than People,” before heading to Elsa’s ice palace on North Mountain.

There, Elsa joins Anna and Kristoff for a lively sing-along of “Let It Go” and “Love Is an Open Door,”.
Animation Celebration also debuted Character Spotlight, a dedicated Olaf meet and greet in late 2019.

Frozen Celebration (2020)
In January 2020, Disneyland Paris launched Frozen Celebration, the successor to Frozen Summer Fun. One of the highlights was Frozen 2: An Enchanted Journey, a daytime show that traveled from Fantasyland to Central Plaza.
Anna and Elsa appeared on a Frozen 2–inspired float, joined by dancers, with a show stop on Central Plaza using the four stages.

Unfortunately, Frozen Celebration ended early due to the pandemic and never returned. However, the Frozen 2: An Enchanted Journey float later appeared during the first editions of The Ultimate Princess Celebration.
World of Frozen in Disney Adventure World (2026)
Everything leads up to March 29, 2026, when World of Frozen officially opens as the heart of the massive expansion of Disney Adventure World.
Guests will step into Arendelle during the Snowflower Festival, with the land bringing Frozen to life on an impressive scale.
