No one goes to Disneyland Paris to stand in line—yet that’s exactly how many visitors spend a large part of their day. Luckily, there are smart ways to drastically reduce wait times without having to buy Premier Access for everything.
With these strategies, you’ll get more out of your day in Disneyland Paris and spend less time standing around.
1. Take Advantage of the Morning
The first 60–90 minutes after park opening are golden.
Try to be at the entrance at least 30 minutes before official opening. As soon as the gates open, head straight to a popular attraction that usually has long wait times.
If you’re staying at a Disney Hotel or have a GOLD Annual Pass, you’re even luckier—you can enter the parks 30 minutes earlier than regular Disneyland Paris guests during Extra Magic Time.
Best rides to head to first:
- Crush’s Coaster (Disney Adventure World)
- Peter Pan’s Flight (Disneyland Park)
- Big Thunder Mountain (Disneyland Park)
- Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure (Disney Adventure World)
- Frozen Ever After (Disney Adventure World)
In the first hour, you can often do 2–3 major attractions with waits under 20 minutes. Lines rise quickly though, especially if you don’t have access to Extra Magic Time. Crush’s Coaster in particular fills up very fast due to its lower ride capacity.
2. Use Wait Times Strategically Throughout the Day
Wait times follow patterns. If you understand them, you can plan around them.
Busiest times:
- 11:30 AM – 4:30 PM → Long lines at almost all major attractions
- Right after parades → Crowds move to rides all at once
Best times for popular rides:
- During parades and major shows
- Early morning & evening
- The last hour before closing
Tip: Officially, lines close at park closing time. But if you join a queue 5 minutes before closing, you’ll still get to ride.

3. Keep an Eye on the Disneyland Paris App
The app is your best friend in the parks.
Wait times change constantly. Sometimes a line suddenly drops from 50 to 20 minutes—that’s your moment to move quickly. Just be fast, because you won’t be the only one who notices.
Use the app to:
- Check live wait times
- See which areas of the park are quieter
4. Don’t Ride Popular Attractions Midday
Attractions like Big Thunder Mountain, Hyperspace Mountain, Peter Pan’s Flight, and Crush’s Coaster often peak above 60 minutes in the middle of the day.
Plan them:
- Early in the morning
- Late in the evening
Use the busy afternoon for:
- Shows
- Less popular attractions
- Shopping and snacks
- Rest breaks

5. Consider Single Rider
Some attractions offer a Single Rider entrance. You won’t sit next to your group, but your wait time can be cut in half.
Single Rider attractions at Disneyland Paris include:
- Ratatouille
- Crush’s Coaster
- Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure
- RC Racer
- Frozen Ever After
- Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop
- Hyperspace Mountain
- Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril
- Avengers Assemble: Flight Force
6. Ride Attractions During Parades
When a parade starts, wait times at many attractions actually drop. This is especially true in Disneyland Park, although some guests hop over from Disney Adventure World to watch the parade, which can also reduce waits there.
While others wait along the parade route, you could be riding:
- Hyperspace Mountain
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- Phantom Manor
7. Eat at “Off” Times
People don’t just queue for rides—they queue for food too.
Eat at unusual times:
- Lunch at 11:30 AM when many restaurants first open
- Dinner after 8:00 PM (note that not all restaurants stay open until park closing)
In the evening, choose restaurants that are deeper in the park rather than central locations like Casey’s Corner on Main Street, U.S.A. You’ll often find shorter lines and more seating at places like Colonel Hathi’s Outpost tucked away in Adventureland.
8. Bad Weather = Shorter Wait Times
If it starts raining—stay. Seriously.
Many guests leave attractions or even the park during rain, which lowers wait times.
However, in very bad weather some rides may temporarily close, which can increase waits at the attractions that remain open. It all depends on the conditions at that moment.

9. Stay Until Closing Time
The last hour of the day is one of the best times to ride attractions—especially if you don’t mind missing the fireworks show.
Families with young children leave or go to their hotel room, day guests head home, A LOT of people are waiting on Central Plaza and Main Street USA for the fireworks and wait times drop. It’s the perfect moment for one last ride on: (attractions in Fantasyland will close earlier due to the fireworks preparations)
- Big Thunder Mountain
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- Star Tours
- Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast
Summary: How to Save Hours of Waiting Time
If you combine these strategies, you can experience most attractions in a single day without excessive waiting:
- Arrive early to ride top attractions first, especially low-capacity ones
- Avoid peak hours for major rides
- Check the app constantly
- Use parade times wisely
- Take advantage of Single Rider
- Stay late—just like early mornings, evenings are ideal for rides that had long waits earlier
Know the rides: Understanding attraction capacity helps you make smarter choices. Roller coasters (Hyperspace Mountain), boat rides (It’s a Small World, Pirates of the Caribbean), and omnimover-style rides (Phantom Manor) have high capacity, meaning lines drop faster when the park gets quieter in the evening.
Be aware: low-capacity rides can still have long waits even on quieter days. This is often the case for attractions like Crush’s Coaster, Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop, RC Racer, Dumbo, Autopia, and Peter Pan’s Flight.
