For many Disneyland Paris visitors, the nighttime show above Sleeping Beauty Castle is the highlight of the day. Projections, music, fireworks, and drones create pure Disney magic — but… where should you stand to truly enjoy it?
Choosing the right spot makes a huge difference. Here are the best locations, depending on what matters most to you: view, atmosphere, photos, or a quick exit.

1. Centered in Front of the Castle (Central Plaza – middle)
Best for: The full experience
Downside: Very crowded, long wait for a good spot
This is the classic location. Standing directly in front of the castle gives you:
- Perfect views of all projections on the castle
- Fireworks symmetrically above the towers
- Drones exactly as designed
If you want this view, arrive at least 60–90 minutes early on busy days.
Guaranteed Access Option:
You can also reserve a front-row viewing spot. This means less waiting and a central location directly in front of the castle in a reserved area with only other extra paying guests. Unfortunately, this option is not free — it’s actually quite expensive.
Guaranteed Access can be purchased for many shows at Disneyland Paris, but it’s especially popular for the fireworks. You know you’ll be at the front and won’t have to stand around as long, which can be very tiring at the end of the day. And if you’re unlucky, guests in front of you in regular areas may lift children onto their shoulders, blocking your view completely.
Prices usually average around €24 per person (depending on crowd levels and availability). Officially, Disneyland Paris mentions prices “from €19,” but for the nighttime show this lower price is rarely seen. So for a family of four, that’s about €96 extra on top of your park tickets.
There are also downsides. If strong winds cause changes to the show and drones are canceled, you’ve paid a lot without seeing the full experience. Some beautiful projections and effects also take place on the façades along Main Street, U.S.A., which you won’t see from this reserved castle-front zone. After the show, you’ll also be among the last to leave, as thousands of guests behind you will be heading toward the exit at the same time.
2. Central Plaza — Left or Right Side
Best for: A good balance between view and slightly less crowding
Standing slightly to the left or right of center still gives you:
✔ Great projections
✔ Good views of the fireworks
✔ A bit more personal space
Many experienced Disneyland Paris visitors prefer these areas because it’s easier to find a spot while still enjoying most of the show.

3. Beginning of Main Street, U.S.A. (near Town Square)
Best for: More space + quick exit
Downside: Visibility can be reduced by children on shoulders
Advantages:
- Less claustrophobic
- Faster exit after the show
- Easier to find a last-minute viewing spot
An even better area on Main Street is about halfway down, roughly opposite Walt’s – An American Restaurant and Market House Deli. From here, you get excellent views of the projections and effects along Main Street, U.S.A., although the castle itself is less visible.
4. Side Area Toward Discoveryland
Best for: Smaller crowds
Downside: Angled castle view, drones not always clearly visible, and you’ll miss effects on Central Plaza and Main Street façades, the sound is also not the best. If this is the very first time you see the show, this is not the place you’re looking for.
On the Discoveryland side (to the right of the castle when facing it), it’s often calmer. You’ll still see:
- Good fireworks
- Castle projections from an angle
It’s not the most “perfect” view, but it’s more comfortable on busy days.
5. Near an Exit
Want to leave quickly after the show? Choose a spot:
- On the edge of Central Plaza
- Near Liberty Arcade or Discovery Arcade
- At the back of Main Street
This helps you avoid the huge crowd surge heading toward the park exit.
Summary
Want the ultimate show experience? → Stand centrally in front of the castle (reserved paid viewing if you want guaranteed space)
Want a bit more room? → Choose Central Plaza left or right
Want to leave quickly after the show? → Stand toward the back of Main Street
Want fewer crowds? → Choose the sides toward Discoveryland
If you truly want to experience the fireworks show in full, the best strategy is honestly to watch it twice:
once from Central Plaza near the castle (with or without reserved viewing), and a second time halfway down Main Street, U.S.A. to enjoy the additional projections, effects, and atmosphere there.
