Now that the Disney Adventure World expansion is officially open and the park has nearly doubled in size, it’s clear that Disney is already looking ahead. Future expansions were always part of the plan, and some exciting projects are already in the works.
The most well-known project currently under construction in Disney Adventure World is a brand-new themed land inspired by The Lion King. This area will feature a major log flume attraction with advanced Audio-Animatronics, comparable to attractions like Splash Mountain in Tokyo Disneyland and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in the U.S. Disney Parks.

Interestingly, this land was originally announced back in 2018 as a Star Wars-themed area. However, during the D23 Expo in 2024, Disney confirmed a change of plans, officially revealing that The Lion King would take its place. The success of The Lion King & Jungle Festival in Disneyland Park likely played a role in that decision, proving the popularity of the franchise in Europe.

This new attraction is being exclusively designed for Disneyland Paris and will be one of the largest in the resort, with a building covering nearly 14,000 m². The experience will tell a coming-of-age story across 19 iconic scenes, brought to life with cutting-edge technology and music from the original 1994 animated film.

Construction is already well underway, and now that the Disney Adventure World expansion is open, guests can get a closer look at the site. Large themed construction walls surround the area, offering visitors a preview of what Disney is building.

A drop test track has also been installed behind Cars Road Trip, and landscaping around Adventure Way already hints at the future expansion.

It’s clear that this project is still a few years away from completion, so patience will be key.
Adventure is out there!
Closer to completion is another addition on Adventure Way near Café Luminosity: a brand-new flying carousel attraction inspired by the Disney•Pixar film Up. This will be the very first Up-themed ride in any Disney park.

The attraction was officially announced on April 12, 2025, by Natacha Rafalski and Michel den Dulk during a presentation at Studio D Theater. It will feature 64 seats and invite guests, acting as Wilderness Explorers, to earn their “Aviation” badge.

The queue will be heavily themed and divided into four narrative zones, including Carl and Ellie’s childhood memories, a globe representing the spirit of exploration, a badge ceremony area, and finally Carl’s iconic balloons leading into the attraction itself.
Construction began on November 18, 2025, and themed walls with concept art and the slogan “a new adventure is coming your way” can already be seen on Adventure Way, across from the Gazebo Garden. While no official opening date has been announced yet, rumors suggest a 2027 debut.

Stay tuned for more updates on these exciting future developments for Disney Adventure World at Disneyland Paris!
