Big changes are happening at Disney Village, as the former McDonald’s building has now been completely demolished.
Mid-March, we reported that McDonald’s France had started demolishing the former restaurant next to The Steakhouse in Disney Village, with the iconic golden arches and McDonald’s logo already removed. Now, the process is fully complete, and the entire building has been demolished.

This location originally opened in 1999 and permanently closed on February 16, 2026. As of now, the space has been completely cleared, and Disneyland Paris has not yet announced what will replace it. The space will likely remain empty for quite some time.

Just one day later on February 17, the brand-new McDonald’s right next door officially opened its doors. This new location is now the largest McDonald’s in France and was designed exclusively for Disneyland Paris as part of the ongoing Disney Village transformation project.

The new McDonald’s features a fresh and modern design, with plenty of greenery, bright indoor and outdoor seating areas, and architecture created specifically for the resort. Guests can also spot subtle and playful nods to Disneyland Paris throughout the location.
Disney Village 2.0
The transformation of Disney Village is clearly moving forward. Several projects are currently underway as the area continues to evolve into a more modern place.
One of the major additions will be Casa Giulia, a new Italian restaurant currently under construction at the former Planet Hollywood location, which is expected to open in late 2026.

Looking ahead, the Disney Store will reopen later this summer as Disney Wonders, and Annette’s Diner is set to return next year with a refreshed design while still keeping its iconic 1950s American diner theme. More details about the wider transformation project are expected to be announced by Disneyland Paris in the future.
