The iconic Disney Stars on Parade at Disneyland Paris has recently undergone a significant route change due to ongoing construction work at Sleeping Beauty Castle. The refurbishment of the castle bridge and moat has led to increased construction barriers around Central Plaza, forcing Disney to adjust how the parade travels through the park.

New Disney Stars on Parade Route Explained
In recent weeks, more construction walls have appeared around key viewing and performance areas, including the usual parade passage between the castle and the popcorn stand on Central Plaza, especially when the parade approaches from the direction of the Royal Castle Stage.
As a result, Disney has rerouted the parade floats to travel further toward the entrance of Discoveryland. From there, the floats must execute a sharp turn toward Central Plaza, allowing the parade to still loop around the main hub of the park.
To prepare for this change, parts of the pavement were lowered in advance to help accommodate the large parade floats navigating the tighter route.

Parade Floats Struggling With the New Layout
Despite the preparations, the new route is proving challenging for some of the larger parade units. On the first day of the adjusted route, two floats were notably absent: the The Lion King & Jungle Book themed float and the large Princess float.
One of the biggest issues came from the massive dragon, which struggled to navigate the tight turn near the trees. It got stuck momentarily, forcing the float to reverse and attempt a tighter turning angle to continue the parade safely.

Princesses Walk Instead of Float Appearance
With the main Princess float currently out of operation, Disney has adapted by having some Disney Princesses perform on foot during the parade. Additionally, older Princess carriages from a previous parade have been brought back into use to maintain the magical atmosphere.

Possible Long-Term Changes for Summer Season
The nighttime show Disney Tales of Magic has also been adjusted due to the ongoing construction around the castle area. This modified version is currently scheduled to run until the end of September.
Because of this, we believe that the temporary Disney Stars on Parade route change may remain in place throughout the summer season. However, Disney has not yet officially confirmed how long the adjustments will last.
Final Thoughts
While the construction at Sleeping Beauty Castle is bringing necessary improvements to the park, it is also clearly impacting daily entertainment operations. The new Disney Stars on Parade route offers a different viewing experience, but also introduces logistical challenges for float drivers and performers.
