The Sleeping Beauty Castle bridge has officially been closed to guests since May 5, 2026, as part of a major refurbishment project that was first announced in early March 2026. Here’s a look at the current impact and what guests visiting Disneyland Park can expect in the coming months.
The biggest impact is of course that guests can no longer enter the castle directly from the front bridge. Instead, visitors are now met with themed construction walls inspired by Sleeping Beauty Castle and its fairy tale style.

Thankfully, the castle itself remains accessible during the refurbishment, including La Tanière du Dragon, La Galerie de la Belle au Bois Dormant, and the two castle shops.
Guests can still enter the castle from the front through La Tanière du Dragon or from the back side through Castle Courtyard.

During our latest visit, we noticed that many guests were mainly using the small pathway next to the castle between Adventureland and Fantasyland. This was likely also influenced by additional construction walls currently installed to the Castle Stage area.

At the moment, it remains unclear how long those additional construction walls will stay in place. Because of these changes, the parade route for Disney Stars on Parade has temporarily been adjusted.

For A Million Splashes of Colour, no major changes have been made to the performance itself, although the castle fountain effects during the show are currently disabled.
Another entertainment offering affected by the refurbishment is Disney Tales of Magic, which is currently being performed without fountain effects. In April, Disneyland Paris had already removed the drones from the nighttime spectacular as well.

To compensate, Disney recently added new pyrotechnic sequences to the show. The fountain effects are expected to remain off until at least late September 2026.
The castle moat is also currently much lower than usual, and the waterfall has been deactivated so construction teams can install scaffolding around the bridge and carry out the refurbishment work.

The renovation of the Sleeping Beauty Castle bridge was badly needed, as the structure has been in poor condition for several years. Interestingly, this issue was not addressed during the large-scale castle refurbishment completed back in 2021.

So far, Disneyland Paris has not shared many additional details about the project, other than confirming that Disney Tales of Magic will continue in this modified version until at least late September 2026.
For those who booked the reserved viewing area for Disney Tales of Magic, it looks like this zone has been moved a little farther away from the construction walls.
If more information becomes available about the renovation of the Sleeping Beauty Castle bridge, we’ll be sure to provide updates here on the blog.
