Just weeks after launching a new menu at Au Chalet de la Marionnette with a Geppetto dessert in Fantasyland, Disneyland Paris has already decided to increase the price.
The menu, which was introduced at €20 only recently, now costs €22. While a €2 increase may not seem significant at first glance, it is notable given how recently the new offering debuted.

One possible explanation is the menu’s popularity. The latest version once again includes a dessert, bringing back a formula that many Disney fans have missed for years. For a long time, a dessert was a standard part of many Disneyland Paris meals. However, during the management era of Natacha Rafalski, desserts were gradually removed from many menus and sold separately, often for around €5 extra.

With the latest price increase to 22€, the value proposition begins to look like that previous model. At €20, the new menu was generally seen as a reasonable deal thanks to the inclusion of dessert. At €22, guests are once again approaching the kind of total they would pay when adding a dessert separately, something Disneyland Paris has attempted to encourage for several years.
Many regular visitors have noticed a familiar pattern: when Disney sees that a product or offering becomes popular, prices often rise shortly afterwards. Whether that is the case here remains open to debate, but the timing is certainly striking.
Constant Changes at Au Chalet de la Marionnette
The latest price adjustment is just one of many recent changes at Au Chalet de la Marionnette. Disneyland Paris has frequently altered the restaurant’s menu, pricing and dining options over the years, despite it being one of the largest quick-service restaurants in the park.
Interestingly, visitor numbers at the restaurant do not always appear to reflect its size. On many occasions throughout the day, large sections of the dining area remain relatively quiet. This is especially noticeable when compared to nearby locations such as Bella Notte, where queues often stretch outside the restaurant during peak hours. Whether another price increase will help attract more guests remains questionable.
An Opportunity Hiding in Adventureland
There may, however, be an untapped opportunity to increase both guest interest and revenue.
Many visitors are unaware that part of Au Chalet de la Marionnette actually extends into Adventureland. This section has its own entrance from Adventureland and is fully themed to match the surrounding area. However, it is rarely open to guests, meaning most visitors never realise it exists.
A more ambitious approach could transform this underused space into a destination in its own right.
By separating the Fantasyland and Adventureland sections, potentially by closing off the connecting passage between them, Disneyland Paris could effectively create a second restaurant experience while continuing to use the same kitchen infrastructure. The Adventureland side could be reimagined as a pirate-themed restaurant or another concept that fits naturally within the land’s atmosphere.
Such a change would offer several advantages:
- Adventureland would gain what appears to be a dedicated dining location.
- The separate entrance would attract guests who may never venture into the Fantasyland side.
- A themed menu tailored to Adventureland could create a unique identity.
- Outdoor seating with specialty beverages, such as tiki-inspired drinks served in collectible mugs, could provide an additional draw.
- Guests would perceive it as an entirely new restaurant, despite much of the operational infrastructure already being in place.
Adventureland is one of the most immersive areas of Disneyland Park, yet some corners of the land can feel quieter than others. A vibrant new dining venue could help bring more energy and activity to the area while making better use of existing space.
As Disneyland Paris continues to adjust pricing and menus at Au Chalet de la Marionnette, perhaps the bigger opportunity is not charging a little more for a meal, but finding new ways to unlock the full potential of one of the park’s largest restaurant locations.
