More than a year after their announcement, installation of the new scenes coming to Rivers of the Far West has officially begun at Disneyland Paris.
Guests embarking from Thunder Mesa Riverboat Landing aboard the iconic Molly Brown riverboat will soon discover four new scenes appearing along the shores of the attraction. The additions will be installed gradually over the coming weeks, bringing fresh storytelling elements to the beloved Frontierland experience.
Inspired by original concepts created by Disney Imagineer and Disney Legend Marc Davis, the new scenes feature a variety of animal figures designed to enhance the natural beauty and charm of the riverbanks. Among the new additions are a majestic buffalo roaming the prairie, as well as a group of adorable raccoons and a playful skunk perched on a floating tree trunk.
The scenes have been specially redesigned and produced by the Walt Disney Imagineering Paris teams, adapting Davis’ classic vision for a new generation of guests while remaining faithful to the spirit of Frontierland.
These enhancements follow the recent refurbishment of the historic Molly Brown riverboat and represent another step in Disneyland Paris’ ongoing efforts to enrich the guest experience and deepen immersion throughout Frontierland.
Importantly, visitors will continue to enjoy uninterrupted access to Thunder Mesa Riverboat Landing during the installation period. As the work is being carried out overnight, guests can still embark on a relaxing cruise along the Rivers of the Far West while the new scenes gradually take shape.
The project marks an exciting new chapter for one of Frontierland’s most scenic attractions, offering guests even more details to discover during their journey through the American frontier.
