Fireworks have returned to both nighttime shows at Disneyland Paris after a temporary ban caused by the recent heatwave in France.
The past few days have been extremely hot at Disneyland Paris and across the rest of France, and this also had a big impact on several outdoor attractions and entertainment offerings.
Due to a red weather alert in the Seine-et-Marne department, a ban on fireworks was introduced. As a result, both nighttime shows at Disneyland Park and Disney Adventure World were performed for about a week without fireworks and flame effects.
Despite the ban, Disneyland Paris still decided to continue presenting both Disney Tales of Magic in Disneyland Park and Disney Cascade of Lights in Disney Adventure World, but in modified versions.
Over at Disney Adventure World, Disney Cascade of Lights was still performed with drones when weather conditions allowed it. The show also continued to include fountains and projections.
However, Disney Cascade of Lights was cancelled once last week due to technical issues with the Adventure Way bridge.
In Disneyland Park, however, Disney Tales of Magic was shown in a much more limited version, with projections only on Sleeping Beauty Castle and the façades of Main Street.
This resulted in a much simpler version of the show, especially because the fountain effects are currently unavailable due to the refurbishment of the Sleeping Beauty Castle Bridge. These effects are expected to remain unavailable until at least late September 2026.
Since May 5, 2026, Disney Tales of Magic has included a few extra pyrotechnic effects because of the bridge refurbishment. Originally, the show also featured a drone display, but this was removed shortly after Disney Cascade of Lights debuted in the other park.
Disneyland Paris did not publish an official online statement about the missing fireworks, nor about the heatwave from the past week. During the hottest parts of the day, several attractions and food stands were also closed across both Disney Parks.
Of course, the park rules mention that Disney has the right to modify the guest experience due to weather conditions, safety reasons, or instructions from local authorities.
For now, temperatures in Europe are returning to more normal summer levels for a few days. But summer is far from over, so if you are visiting Disneyland Paris in the coming weeks or months, it is good to keep in mind that entertainment, attractions, and other offerings may be adjusted depending on the weather.
