For the second time in a short period, Disneyland Paris has been forced to temporarily remove pyrotechnic and fire effects from its nighttime shows.
Due to local authority restrictions related to the heatwave affecting the area, Disney Tales of Magic and Disney Cascade of Lights will be presented in adapted versions without pyrotechnic effects from Friday, July 10, to Wednesday, July 15, 2026, inclusive.
This is already the second fireworks ban at Disneyland Paris this summer. At the end of June, both shows were also performed without fireworks for about a week.
Unfortunately, this means we once again have to share similar information about the impact on the shows. The good news is that both nighttime spectaculars will still be performed, but in a more limited version.
A Big Impact on Disney Tales of Magic
The temporary removal of pyrotechnics and flame effects has a particularly noticeable impact on Disney Tales of Magic in Disneyland Park.
The nighttime spectacular is already being performed in a reduced format after drones were removed from the show in April 2026. On top of that, the ongoing refurbishment of the Sleeping Beauty Castle bridge means that the fountain effects remain unavailable until at least late September 2026.
As a result, Disney Tales of Magic is currently being performed almost entirely with projection effects on Sleeping Beauty Castle and Main Street, U.S.A.
Disney Cascade of Lights Still Has Drones
Over in Disney Adventure World, Disney Cascade of Lights is in a slightly better position, as the show still includes drones.
However, if weather conditions prevent the drones from flying, there will not be much left of the show either.
During the previous fireworks ban, Disneyland Paris did not share a public statement. This time, however, they did, most likely to warn guests about the impact on the annual Bastille Day show on July 14, which is usually one of the biggest nighttime shows of the year at Disneyland Paris.
Bastille Day Show Will Continue Without Fireworks
The special Bastille Day show will still take place, but it will be performed without fireworks and will rely mainly on drones and projections.
Disneyland Paris has already confirmed that this year’s Bastille Day show will be a brand-new nighttime spectacular. The show will follow Tinker Bell on a journey around the world through beloved Disney and Pixar classics.
Emotions and wonder will light up the sky with magical projections and a unique drone display above Sleeping Beauty Castle.
This special show will replace Disney Tales of Magic on July 14 for one day only.
Pyrotechnic effects are expected to return from July 16, and cooler weather (& rain) is also forecast around that time.
