One of the biggest merchandise trends of the past few years has definitely been mystery boxes. These are small boxes or bags that include a collectible figure, but you do not know which one you are going to get until you open it.
The concept has become especially popular thanks to Pop Mart, which also found its way to Disney Village and is still available today in one of the Tiny Shops opposite the LEGO Store.
At Disneyland Paris, similar mystery box-style items used to be quite rare. While the American Disney Parks have offered mystery merchandise items like pins for many years, this concept was not often seen in the shops at Disneyland Paris. One of the few exceptions were the Wishables, which are no longer available at the time of writing this blog post.
Over the past few months, however, we have seen more and more of these items appear around the resort. It started with several Enesco Grand Jester Studios mini figures, which were available near the cash registers at Harrington’s on Main Street, U.S.A. and at Deco by Disney in Disney Village.
Now, a real invasion of mini figures has arrived at Harrington’s in Disneyland Park, where several shelves have made room for these mystery boxes and blind bags.
The Funko Mystery Minis are displayed with example figures on the shelves, giving guests a better idea of what they might get. The Enesco Grand Jester figures, however, are not shown as display examples.
