Could Disneyland Paris finally have some exciting new announcements to share? A rather intriguing message posted by Disneyland Paris on X has certainly caught the attention of fans ahead of this weekend’s D23 Expo.

The message certainly suggests that there could be more than one announcement coming for Disneyland Paris. Or at least, that’s what we would like to believe!
Historically, however, Disneyland Paris has often received very little attention during previous D23 events, with most of the biggest announcements focusing on the American Disney Parks. There have even been D23 Expos where Disneyland Paris was barely mentioned at all. So naturally, we’re curious to see whether this time we might finally be surprised.
Fans are keeping their expectations low
Despite the teasing message, optimism among some fans appears to be difficult to find. Many expect the announcements to focus mainly on the previously announced The Lion King expansion for Disney Adventure World.
Some of the reactions to Disneyland Paris’ post perfectly show just how sceptical fans can be:
“A new bench and three new trees that won’t even be announced? Yeah, we’re dying to know what the other parks will have in store.”
Another fan commented:
“There won’t be anything like usual. It’ll just be about new shows we don’t care about, new menus, and a price increase with a reduction in benefits.”
Of course, these are only reactions from fans, but they show that many people have been disappointed by previous announcements and are hoping Disneyland Paris will finally have something bigger in store.
Could we dare to dream bigger?
And then there are the rumours that always keep Disney fans dreaming…
One rumour, previously reported by WDWNT, suggested that a Star Wars land could eventually come to Discoveryland, with Autopia potentially disappearing as part of the project.
Personally, however, removing an existing attraction simply to build something new in its place would be a rather disappointing approach. It would not increase the overall capacity of Disneyland Park. We have seen this happen before when Le Visionarium disappeared to make way for Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast. While a new attraction was added, the total number of experiences in the park did not actually increase.
Another rumour suggests that Space Mountain could return to its original Jules Verne-inspired identity, based on De la Terre à la Lune, especially if Star Wars were to receive its own dedicated expansion elsewhere.
Could we perhaps hear about something completely new for Disney Adventure World once the Lion King area is completed? Or could Disneyland Paris finally reveal plans for a new hotel, something that has been rumoured and discussed by fans for many years?
And perhaps none of these rumours will become reality at all. Disneyland Paris could simply use D23 to reveal more information about its 35th Anniversary, which will take place in 2027.
Whatever is coming, we won’t have to wait much longer to find out. Disneyland Paris has clearly encouraged fans to stay tuned for the announcements this weekend.
