Disneyland Paris has confirmed that Mickey and the Magician will not be performed during the year the resort celebrates its 35th anniversary.
The fan-favorite show will have its final performance on January 10, 2027, before the Animagique Theater undergoes a major refurbishment.
There have been rumours for quite some time that Disney was planning changes for the theater and possibly the show itself. While no specific details have been shared yet, the fact that Disneyland Paris is investing in the theater makes us think there is a good chance we may be saying goodbye to the original version of Mickey and the Magician in early 2027.
The show first debuted in summer 2016, already ten years ago, as the replacement for Animagique.
Mickey and the Magician follows Mickey Mouse, who dreams of becoming a great magician. While cleaning a magician’s workshop, he meets several Disney characters who each teach him something about magic and believing in himself.
The original version of the show features characters and scenes inspired by Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Aladdin, and Frozen, with appearances from Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother, Lumière, Rafiki, Genie, Elsa, and Olaf.
