Today, we were invited by Disneyland Paris for a short preview tour inside Disney Wonders, the brand-new store opening in Disney Village on September 22, 2026.
Disney Wonders replaces the former Disney Store, which permanently closed earlier this year as part of the ongoing transformation of Disney Village.
Unfortunately, we were not allowed to take our own photos or videos during the visit, but Disneyland Paris provided us with official images to share.

A more colourful and open store
One of the first things we noticed is how much brighter and more colourful Disney Wonders feels compared to the former Disney Store.
The fixtures in the middle of the shop have deliberately been kept lower, giving guests an almost 360-degree view across the store as soon as they enter. The idea is to create a much more open layout and make the different merchandise areas easier to find.
Disney Wonders focuses entirely on the major Disney franchises: Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars. Disneyland Paris told us that the store will offer its largest selection of Star Wars merchandise.
Around 20% of the products in Disney Village will also be different from merchandise available inside the Disney Parks, giving guests another reason to stop by Disney Village. The selection will include exclusive items, Mystery Boxes and products from several major brands.

Disney stories come to life
Several decorative frames around Disney Wonders will appear to come to life, a little like some of the animated displays found at World of Disney stores in the United States.
During our preview, we saw one Pixar-themed sequence featuring the famous Pixar Lamp in the centre, surrounded by framed artwork from different Pixar movies. The frames light up and animate one after another, bringing the artwork to life. We spotted films including The Good Dinosaur and Soul, which was particularly nice to see as these movies do not often get much representation in the parks.
Another area will feature more classic Disney stories, with Tinker Bell helping to activate the animated displays. Disneyland Paris mentioned around 14 different visual storytelling elements throughout the store.

A dedicated Event Area
Disney Wonders will also feature a unique Event Area, giving the store a dedicated space that can be used for special activities and merchandise events.
This adds another new element compared to the former Disney Store and should give Disneyland Paris more flexibility when launching special products or organising events in Disney Village.
Faster checkout with RFID technology
Even paying for your merchandise will work a little differently.
Disney Wonders will use RFID technology at selected checkout points. Instead of scanning every item individually, guests will be able to place their purchases together in a special checkout area, where the system can automatically recognise the items.
The goal is to make the payment process faster, especially during busy periods.

Four years in the making
According to Disneyland Paris, the complete Disney Wonders project took around four years, from the first ideas and design work to construction and the final installation inside Disney Village.
After seeing the store before opening, it definitely feels like much more than simply a replacement for the former Disney Store. The open layout, exclusive merchandise, animated storytelling elements and new technology all give Disney Wonders its own identity.
Disney Wonders officially opens on September 22, 2026, in Disney Village.
