There’s a new place to meet your favourite Toy Story characters at Disney Adventure World! The former Barrel of Monkeys shop in Toy Story Playland has now been transformed into a Character meet & greet location.
Located in Worlds of Pixar, the new spot currently gives guests the chance to meet Woody, the lovable sheriff from Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story. Disneyland Paris also describes the location as a place where Woody or one of his friends could appear, so other characters may potentially be featured here as well.
From shop to meet & greet
Barrel of Monkeys had barely been used as a shop in recent years. Some time ago, references to the location being a store were removed from the façade, followed by some small repainting work.
Disneyland Paris fan account DLP Report had also previously hinted that the location could eventually be transformed into a meet & greet area, and that has now happened.
Information about this Character encounter in Disney Adventure World can now also be found in the official Disneyland Paris app.
At the time of writing, Woody is scheduled to meet guests several times throughout the day at 10:45, 11:15, 11:45, 12:15, 15:15 and 15:45. Character appearances can of course change, so it is always worth checking the app during your visit.
No Virtual Queue for now
Unlike several other Character experiences at Disneyland Paris, this new meet & greet currently uses a traditional standby queue. Guests therefore do not need to join a Virtual Queue before heading over to meet Woody.
The new location is also a useful addition while part of the regular Worlds of Pixar meet & greet area in Disney Adventure World is currently inaccessible due to the major refurbishment of Crush’s Coaster.
For now, Woody has a new home in Toy Story Playland and it will be interesting to see which of his friends might join him there in the future.
