Disney Wonders officially opened its doors today, September 22, 2026, replacing the former Disney Store as part of the multi-year transformation of Disney Village.
To celebrate the opening, a small ceremony took place with the Disney Wonders Cast Members, the Disneyland Paris 2026–2027 Ambassadors, and Mickey & Minnie Mouse.

A familiar concept with a completely new look
The general concept of Disney Wonders remains fairly similar to the former Disney Store, with merchandise inspired by several major Disney franchises including Disney Animation, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars.
The biggest difference is obviously the design. Just like several of the recently renovated locations around Disney Village, Disney Wonders has received a much more modern and minimal look.

That change has already created plenty of discussion online. Some Disney fans have criticised the new design, especially because the former Disney Store was known and loved for its elaborate theming and many decorative details.
There are, however, some practical improvements. The fixtures in the middle of Disney Wonders have deliberately been kept lower, giving guests an almost 360-degree view across the store when they enter. This creates a more open layout and should make the different merchandise sections easier to find.

The store also feels noticeably brighter thanks to the large number of windows and the more open interior.
Disney stories that come to life
One of the more interesting additions can be found on the walls. Several decorative frames around Disney Wonders can come to life through animated effects, somewhat similar to interactive displays found at World of Disney stores in the United States.
These displays feature different Disney stories and help add a little extra movement and character to the otherwise modern interior.

New RFID checkout technology
The shopping experience has also been modernised. Disney Wonders uses RFID technology at selected Scan & Go checkout points. Instead of scanning every product individually, guests can place their items together in a special tray before completing their payment.
It is a system similar to the checkout technology used by retailers such as Uniqlo, with Disney hoping it will make the payment process faster, especially during busy periods.

Four years in the making
According to Disneyland Paris, the complete Disney Wonders project took around four years, from the first ideas and design work to construction and the final installation.

With Disney Wonders now open, the transformation of the North Block of Disney Village is almost complete.
A few additional elements are still expected to be added to the Disney Wonders façade in 2027, while Annette’s Diner is currently expected to reopen during the first quarter of 2027. The restaurant’s exterior is not expected to undergo the same kind of major transformation as some of the other locations.
And Disney Village is far from finished. Work on the South Block is expected to begin in 2027, continuing the large-scale transformation of the entertainment district.
