Disneyland Paris has given a fresh, dazzling look to one of its most iconic attractions. As part of the 30th anniversary celebrations of Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain in 2025, the Imagineering Paris and Design & Delivery teams have completed an ambitious lighting renovation for the exterior of this beloved Discoveryland landmark. The new lighting officially debuted last Saturday, delighting guests with a vibrant spectacle.
The project involved replacing more than 640 luminaires and laying over 17 kilometres of cabling, alongside modernizing technical equipment and creating new access points to streamline maintenance. In total, the upgraded installation now boasts around 48,000 lighting points, providing the creative team with extraordinary new possibilities to enhance the visual experience. At the same time, the attraction’s roof is being repainted, bringing it back to its original grandeur.
Guests can now enjoy an immersive light show that loops for approximately 16 minutes, synchronized with the launch of each ride vehicle. This transformation not only revitalizes the iconic façade but also introduces entirely new lighting effects, ensuring that Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain shines like never before—both for thrill-seekers on the ride and for visitors exploring Discoveryland.
With this upgrade, Disneyland Paris has reaffirmed its commitment to blending cutting-edge technology with imaginative storytelling, creating a magical experience that celebrates the legacy of a true theme park classic.
