Disneyland Paris has revealed another exciting detail about the upcoming The Lion King attraction at Disney Adventure World.
A brand-new Audio-Animatronics figure of Scar will be part of the attraction, bringing one of Disney’s most iconic villains to life.
New concept art revealed during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event gives us a first look at a confrontation between Scar and Simba. The scene is directly inspired by the climax of Disney’s 1994 animated classic, as Scar stands in Simba’s way of becoming king of the Pride Lands.
A new immersive world inspired by The Lion King
The attraction will be the centerpiece of the first-ever immersive world dedicated to The Lion King.
Construction started in fall 2025 next to Adventure Bay and near World of Frozen. Foundation work has now been completed, and the first structures of the new land are beginning to rise from the ground.
The area will transport guests into the heart of the African savanna, with the attraction built around an impressive Pride Rock.
A water attraction with three drops
At the heart of the land will be a large new water-based attraction taking families through several iconic scenes from The Lion King.
The experience will combine state-of-the-art visual effects, the movie’s famous soundtrack and numerous Audio-Animatronics figures. Confirmed characters include Simba, Timon, Pumbaa and Scar, with even more characters set to appear.
The attraction will feature three drops, including an impressive 16-metre-high descent from Pride Rock.
Walt Disney Imagineering is working together with Disneyland Paris and Disney Animation to bring the world and story of The Lion King to life with plenty of detail, emotion and thrills.
With construction now moving above ground, we’ll hopefully get to see much more of this huge new addition to Disney Adventure World as work continues.
