A little update from the Lion King construction site at Disney Adventure World in Disneyland Paris.
Construction is continuing on the large show building for the new Lion King water attraction, although there is still not much to see when walking through the park. Most of the construction is currently also partly hidden behind the trees. We’ll probably have a slightly better view during the winter, once the trees have lost their leaves.
There isn’t much exciting to see yet, apart from concrete walls and beams, that’s just how it goes in the early stages of construction.
One thing is clear: this is going to take a very long time. The construction doesn’t seem to be progressing particularly quickly, especially compared with the Tropical Americas expansion currently being built at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which is scheduled to open in 2027.
At the last D23 Expo, no opening year was announced for the Lion King attraction either. That’s why we suspect the opening date might be announced during the next D23 Expo in 2028, with the Lion King attraction potentially opening in the first part of 2029, somewhat similar to the way World of Frozen was announced and developed.
So, I think we’ll have to wait at least another 2.5 years before we can finally experience this attraction.
